As information security becomes a dominant determinant of the failure or success of all digitally connected systems, it has become increasingly imperative to stay ahead of the curve in securing those systems to outpace criminals, nation-states and all manner of bad actors. Cybersecurity risk management principles and practices are therefore crucial to ensuring a secure future for all digital connected enterprises, governments and educational institutions. Initially released in February 2014 and updated once since then, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework has become the gold standard for managing cybersecurity risks for governments and businesses throughout the world.
